ok guys. so this vehicle had damage at one point and the shop that repaired/painted the door failed to installed the forked latch on the inside of the door. its hard to explain, but we took the door panel off the other side and compared how both door functioned and my father saw what was off-track. I'm sorry I don't know the proper terminology. door is fixed and I'm super stoked about it.
