Signaling issues.
Vehicle: 2008 2d Hatchback Yaris
Okay, so I replaced a tail light cover (Last one was shot by a BB-gun) and it began a massive cascade of issues... The signal lights worked for a moment before buzzing on and off and have since them been non functional. Battery light comes on (flickering) Airbag light is on, heater lighter is on (Even though its not in use) Fan doesn't work. Signal lights aren't working. Gearing status (Drive, parked, etc) will not show when attempting to use signals or breaking. Horn, break lights, Headlights, backup lights work. Interior dome light works. Emergancy lights will flash and click (working relays). Tried replacing the car battery since the battery light was on and the current one was 7 years old anyways and the issues remain. We've checked the fuses, the break light bulbs were replaced (as they stopped working after the tail light cover and work now.) and I've no money to take it in and get it looked at. (Unemployment sucks, I'm not bringing in enough to support myself where I live anyways.) Any suggestions on what is wrong? Thank you for your time. Also, first post! |

Sounds like you popped one of the fusible links, which are built into the positive battery terminal.

On the black plastic block (under the red cover) on the positive terminal there are two fusible links.

In the fusebox, they were removed and tested with a wigi back when were were trying to figure out what precisely had gone wrong. With the battery, I gave a careful look (since I dont have my own multimeter at this time) and didnt see any scoring or breaks up top via visual inspection. Perhaps I should remove them and use a wigi?
