I have to disagree with your statement about Toyotas burning oil. I would say no more than most other modern cars, possibly less. My previous 2004 Echo RS (ie Yaris Mk 1) was using hardly any oil at 230k km. My wife's 2006 Camry is also at around that mileage and not needing top ups between services.
