got tires/wheels today (pics)

so i went with the 17" wheels. i am happy and annoyed at the same time. i think it looks funny because the car could use some lowering. there is too much of a gap between the actual car and the tire. but, the dude at discount tire said if i lower it, it will void the warranty on my car. and, i can't do that. so...i guess i'll have to deal with it looking funny. or something.

yep, time to lower the car

what tires did you go with?

you will void the warranty on the suspension components of the car, none of which you are going to have problems with, you could go through toyota and have the TRD kit installed, that would be a nice drop with 17 inch wheels and you would still have your warranty

your car looks sexxxy, I think that almost every owner here with aftermarket wheels has done a drop in the car, about the warranty I think is BS, I've taken my car to the dealership a couple of times and they havnt said anything. So go ahead and dropped and keep the original springs if it worries you

i'm definitely going to look into dropping it. it's so pretty....excuse me, sexy, that i want it to look great. not just good. i have no idea how much lowering costs. i may have to wait a few weeks. after these wheels i am broke as a joke. and, thanks.

If your really worried about the warranty, just grab some TRD springs and shocks/struts. I too am waiting to lower my car after going broke on my 17" wheels & tires. (Went over credit card limit )

Death, I'll sell you a brand new set of Tanabe DF210 for 135. if you want. I spent 155. so I am losing a little but I am really thinking Megan coilovers right now

It would be a local pick up or drop off so it would save you on shipping. Perfect drop for 17" wheels. I am on 15" so I really want a little more drop.

Just let me know.

The Megan springs give a 1.5" drop and I purchased for $117 shipping included. Haven't seen anyone else on this forum paying much attention to them...really don't know why other than following the crowd. I'm real happy with them and the firmer ride...can't imagine better unless you want 2" drop from the DF's. Inexpensive doesn't always mean inferior or we would all put 102 octane in!

i called Toyota. they said it will void my suspension warranty, not the warranty on the entire car.

so now, i have a decision to make. i think we all know what that will be
