Yes, I'm looking at the diagram right now, and it does shows a nice tray that the filter fits into before installing it. It would make for a cleaner installation, but I just can't imagine that it would work with our cars considering the location of the unit.
Anyway, wasn't this a Purolator filter for a Scion? Hey, maybe this is the very reason a filter was never installed by the dealer... the filter tray wouldn't fit! |
