She recently finished her 3rd year of plowing. I haven't done much new with her, but I think soon I will be adding a power dump bed to make her even more useful in the summer months.
I also purchased a spare crank pulley and am working on welding a triple V-belt pulley to it to allow me to drive a 20 KW generator head, so she can quietly power the house during the next week long power outage (like the two we had with the hurricane last August and snow storm last October).

3rd year of plowing?!!! Wow... time flies when you're having fun... has it been that long already?
Poor thing, she looks a little bit like Frankenstein but beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;) Congrats on generating one of the most intereting / fun Yaris-rescue / DYI on this board. |

In preparation for the latest mods on Crashy, this morning I finished chopping the back of the roof off. The final cut will actually be on the other side of the tape, but I left myself enough material to be able to bend it over and weld it to give it some strength and cover the opening.

Didn't you have an idea for a generator too?

I was unaware of Crashy until just now. Other then seeing your avatar that is, which I couldn't comprehend.... very cool! The Yaris as a pickup looks pefect, obviously meant to be.
I just completed putting a dump bed on my Dodge flatbed, it's the same hydraulic setup I had on another truck for 12 years. Bought from Northern Hydraulics, it'd be too much for Crashy, but I'd be happy to PM you some pics showing the geometry of how they work, no use re-inventing the wheel. Once you see the dynamics of it, where the cylinder is, the hinge points, etc., you'll see it would lend itself to being home brewed. Hell I can just post a couple pics here if anyone else is interested. |

I really like the pick-up look on that Yaris. What a great idea!

I wish Scott would make some mini die cast Crashy's. I'd have one as a keyring.
