i think its great that everyone isnt the same. it doesnt mean it doesnt just crack me up to see some riced up car on my way to work. and my comments were in response to someone saying a little tiny sticker degrades the car. that was his opinion. my opinion was that all of the things i mentioned degrade a car far more. so, for anyone who wants to fart on down the road with their fart can, put a tabletop sized spoiler on your car to more easily facilitate a picnic while in a traffic jam, have you shift knob light up every time you shift, paint your dash a vibrant blue so that it looks like it was done by playskool, put on spinning rims that could hypnotize the nearest driver, or make your car look like you are carrying Fat Albert and the gang, then go for it and be proud of your accomplishments. its wonderful for people to express their uniqeness.

many of the things i mentioned, everyone here would agree are ugly if they are done to a certain extreme, and ive see such comments many times on this board. i just dont think it takes much to ruin the looks of a small economy car. but, i will freely admit those are my tastes only, and i recognize that some people think certain mods improve the looks of their car.
as far as the black rims, its simple. from any distance at all, when i see a car with black rims, especially an eco car, the first thing it reminds me of is an old hyundai that hit too many bumps and lost all its hubcaps. i happen to think many of the rims that members here have put on their yaris improve the looks of the car very much, just not the black ones.

i want to be clear that the ridiculous types of mods that i usually see arent done on yarii and my comments werent really directed at yaris owners, but rather were simply to make a point that in some peoples eyes there are far more offensive things than a tiny sticker.

While I do agree that I do not like the so called ricer mods (shopping cart rear wing, mismatching colored body kits, mufflers that I can stick a cantaloupe in, etc), I really can't make fun of it too much since someone takes pride in it. I also respect your thoughts on a good looking car.

I thought it was funny actually. But I can already tell this thread will soon become a flame war. Just a matter of time before it's locked. Thanks to some of you in advance for the buzzkill

Oh, I don't know, I think it could be considered funny. Humour is different for everybody. We know our cars don't have V8 engines

I wouldn't take it so hard, MadDog. No biggie

They ought to ride with me. I get plenty of excitement almost every day with just 106HP. Timing and agility count for more than raw horsepower to weight ratio.

Surprised that nobody ever came up with this one...

roxy1, Not going to quote your comment lol, but thanks for going in depth at what you intended in your previous comment. I respect your clean, non degrading look of an eco-car. I want to achieve a subtle look for my daily driven Yaris too~

I disagree that certain "fart cans", "black wheels", etc give the look you typically see on your daily drive to home/work.... I admit to having a fart canister shape axle-back exhaust, but one can't assume almost all the fart cans on a car stick out w/ large holes to fit melons into...? (i used your metaphor Kaotic :P) People w/ Greddy Ti-C exhaust on here have that look somewhat, i have a 5zigen exhaust, and if you look at Kaotic's pics, or even ask him, it sits almost flush or a little behind the bumper (hidden)....and does not crackle, or fart. The exhaust has a deep tone to it if anything at all..

What I'm trying to get at is, there are mods out there that you describe as tabletop spoilers (and i agree 100%, no doubt), but not all look like that. Crandell's black wheels on here look amazing....they don't look trashy.. Now if someone went and painted hubcaps black, thats something i can agree w/ you on... The beauty of any after market parts is, it's your style, how you create/think/picture something in your complex mind...

I didnt mean to come off at you in direct offense, but after your explanation, it helped out our discussion :D

krazy jojo - what're you talking about? :P

The ebay seller's item...i thought it was funny, wasn't offended BY THAT... If it were more noticeable i would get it, or a reworked version of it saying something else...

I wish there were more style out there. All most every day I look at this site and I see a post asking everyone else what they should do to there car; what rims or what mod should I do next. Then there are the comments that are made saying you should do something. If it’s about someone style then there would be bigger differences in the way cars look.

What I mean by fart cans are those (stereotypically) Civics. I've seen many that look like they stuck a Folgers Coffee can onto their muffler. That, I don't get. I don't consider canister mufflers to be fart cans, since many of them are deep sounding, like yours Kioshi. But I do wish I had a cantaloupe with me when I see those huge coffee can mufflers tho.

i thought it was all done for humor. not to be taken seriously. some yaris owner thought it was funny- funny enough to urge the maker of the stickers to come up with it. i wish someone came up with one for the camry, calling it a fatass or something more boring than vanilla ice cream.

there were a couple funny ones in there. if i had a gynormous toolbox, i'd get the chuck norris sticker.

some notable ones:

You'd be fine, though watching me bob and rotate my head like a fighter pilot might bug you.
