Yeah, I feel bad about not even thinking about charities of any kind but 50K is not that much money if you think about it.

I sure wish I could take a bit of time off for a change and go travel the world.

I find that as I get older, I am more and more attracted towards countries completely different from what I already know.

So my dreams are: to go to India, during Holi (when people throw color at each other for fun http://www.holifestival.org/ ) to parts of Asia, Africa, Southern America, just to start with. Never been downunder and that's gotta be cool, too.

Wonder what the Taj Mahal structure looks like in person... imagine, to look up to the Great Pyramids of Egypt ... to listen to bossa nova in Rio. to stand next to the Sydney opera house ...

my BF used to tell me when I get up in the morning, my hair looks like this

sure would like to see the real thing some day.

The world is a big place and I sure would like to see some more of it before my time's up.

Last year, they had advertisements all over the underground here to get people to go to Dubai and I think it would be cool to simply say, hey sure, let's go for a couple of weeks and check it out, even if it is a few thousand dollars out of the way.

*sigh*

Aww, well, we can dream.. I guess.

Wait, I know!!! downpayment on the little house in Victoria, BC. British Columbia is one of the most beautiful places I know.

hmmm OK, break's over

Fond memories of that place...getting ran over/ran into by a driver that didn't care that the street was crowded with hundreds of people, taking a shortcut down an alley and having a guy start swinging a chain at me...

Even though I was hurt and got scared I still liked it ...young, slightly intoxicated, and in the red light district.

I prefer smaller cities/towns...but it was a nice way to end a 2 week tour with a bang.

For example: Rome is great, but I'll take the city of La Spezia any day

I didn't have any problems in Amsterdam but I only visited for a few days.

If there is something I didn't care for, that would be the huge concentration of bikes everywhere. Streets are very small (downtown at least) and people get around w/ bikes which is great, but there are so many bikes everywhere, you constantly have to watch out for them. They don't seem to have brakes, either, and it's not like here where pedestrians have the right of way, it's "get out of the way when you hear the bell" because they don't stop for you, even downtown in the pedestrian area. That can be annoying.

Otherwise, people are expected to behave in public, so when you walk around, you don't notice anything out of the ordinary, but what you do behind closed doors is understood to be nobody's business (within limits though, I'm sure)... IDK I like a society that treats adults like adults

check out the bike parking lot (I think that's the one near the train station) insanely huge, not a single car in there, just bikes, bikes, bikes
