Parts for the car are fun to think about but the first thing the popped into mind was college tuition for the kids... getting old and responsible sucks.

No doubt, my son is set in that dept, thank god, but this is a dream so look at it in a different way, one wont spend that money all on a car, pay bills, pay the house note etc.

OK, fine, assuming I didnt need it for anything else,
take time off work and go travel around the world for a while. The thing is, $50 K isn't a lot of money to do dream stuff. (I have big dreams) |

Hmmm?
If I put it in a bank... I would lose the value of the $50,000 in one year with the interest of <1% not even keeping up with inflation and the Cost of Living Ajustments (COLA's). If I put it in stocks, bonds, and finacial advisors... the Wall Street Market... I would gain over the COLA's from inflation, but more definately would risk losing my money through ponzi schemes and shady characters like Bernie Madoff! If I put the money under my pillow and didn't do anything with it... I would wake up the next year and find the value of of the $50,000 erode to down to around $45,000 of its initial purchasing power do to inflation. So, I would spend it... all of it... today! Is there such a thing called 'honest money'??? Cheers!
