What is the tread size of strut nut exactly? Did you cut only the tread section on your old strut and treaded an half into wheel nut?

M12*1.25 I think. I chopped the threaded end of old struts and it threads 50% on the lug nut so shoild be plenty of engagement

So, first off, no pics yet, not sure what happened I was snapping them but they are not on my phone?? anyway Sunday was a day of successes and failures. The cheapo coil spacers were a success, they required me to compress the springs off the car, then zip tie em, then put them in on top of the spacer then cut the zip ties. That worked and gave me 1.5" at the wheel wells. All I had to do was trim the inner bit out as the springs were a smaller circle. but they fit in the perches perfectly and the outer ring holds everything in. Move on to the front, here's the fail. I installed the first one and it worked well, everything tightened up and it gave me about 1.4" increase in height at the fender. Wohoo. so on the the last corner, it is the same, exact same as the other but it didn't work, the strut bolt kept poking way farther up that it should and it was like the lift was compressing itself. but I put the rubber ring in a vise and could get it to budge at all. No matter how many times I took it out and looked, put it back in it just wouldn't work. So now I need to figure out a plan b. I did get a ride down the road when I thought it was tight and the added height was great, add the bigger tires and it should be awesome.

Best of luck getting that last bit straightened out. It will look and work great in the end, I'm sure!
Looking forward to the pics when it's done.

Thanks, I just don't get why one side worked and one didn't. It's been bugging me all day LOL. I am going to see if I can find something else at the hardware store to put in the 1.5" space I had the rubber ring, I can't see that compressing but it must be. But why only one of the 2 as they are identical??? That is the puzzling bit.

That’s definitely weird one side isn’t working the same as the other. So you have pictures of the assembly prior to it being installed in the car? Maybe something is just slightly different from one assembly to the other?

Here it is basically a dense rubber ring with a strut top and extension on the bolt. I cut the rings from a boat trailer roller and tried to compress in my vice and it wouldn't budge.

I know the rubber mount on the top compressed some, but that ring shouldn't at all

SO the only thing I can think of, is the top rubber strut normally sits right on the bearing and the second bit is missing that bearing and maybe on the one side it compressed more than the other and I need to drill out and put a bearing on that piece to fill the hollow under the topper? It won't fit over the lug nut I used unless I drill it out.

Yeah I’m not sure why the opposite side seems to be compressing once the weight of the car is installed on it. I would keep an eye on the rubber from time to time so check it’s condition though. I bought spring spacers that go inbetween the coils once and the first time I lowered the weight of the car onto them they started to split from the inside out.
Looks like you got some good lift going on though!

Pretty sure Ingot it figured. One of the kyb strut tops was a little softer on the side that compressed more. I need something to take u the air under the domed part and reinstall
