I'm a worry-wort but I worry about RPM's

I finally had my Yaris up to 70 MPH this morning, the tach said 3000 RPM's - my old 4 cylinder Cavalier I traded in only turned over approx. 2000 RPM's at 70 MPH. Isn't 3000 RPM's harder on an engine? I know I'm probably being worried over nothing, but I'm still babying my Yaris since it's only got 550+ miles on it. It feels like a toy compared to driving my old Cavalier. And I used to own a Honda CRX years ago but never paid attention to the tach/RPM's on that car.
