Maybe I am bit naive, but I found this out the noisy way yesterday. KYB shocks come without a boot, and one of my OEM boots was rusted onto the shaft of the old shock, so I researched online whether shocks NEED boots. All the sources I checked said no.
![]() Upon test driving my bootless KYB shocks, the shafts promptly slid up into the upper opening by about 2 1/2 inches. ![]() Thankfully it didn't cause damage, just a lot of noise, but I learned that these shocks, MUST have the OEM style boots installed, the metal top acts as a washer to keep them in place. Just thought I would share! |
