Also post what type of rims you have (size, brand, style, etc), and which tires you have (size, brand, etc). This will help all us who are contemplating wheels and tires as to which size and style we might like to go with. Thanx.

Did those 40's throw off your speedo? According to the plus size recommendation on tirerack.com, the correct tire size for a 17" rim is 205/45/17. When doing the math, the 45's also come out to be closer to the overall diameter of the OEM tires and wheels. Just curious. Your's definitely look sweet!

Thanks. This will be a good thread for anyone searching for just the right wheel for their Yaris.
The most critical spec here would be to always include the offset with your photos.

Drag DR-4 Gloss Black alloy wheels with Nitto NeoGen ZR high performance all-season tires. The wheels are 17"x7" with a 40+mm offset and a four bolt pattern, 4x(100/114.3). The wheels are 10 spoke and weigh about 16.5 lbs. The Nitto tires are 215/40 ZR17 NeoGen ZR M+S all season performance tires. No rubbing with full load or on turns. Ride comfort is a tad harsher than the stock 15" but that is to be expected, but handling and grip is the best. Better than falken or daytona tires I have used. I am also running the tires at 52psi, recommended max is 51psi.

That's a nice looking rim/tire size combination. I wonder what size they are? The rims look larger than stock (maybe 16s?), which still leaves enough of a sidewall on the tires for a somewhat smooth ride.

So basically those tires didn't work because of the offset of the wheels, but he wanted to keep the wheels so he went with a smaller diameter tire, is that correct?

offset and ride heigth I believe both played a role, if you were running a +40 with a 16X7 and a 1.7 drop you woul dbe ok from what I understand however he is on DF's (I don't even know if they've settled yet from the pics) and is running +38, plus 40 in the front is -flush-

The overall diameter of the 195/50's 22.64", while the OEM tires (185/60's) is 23.7". The 195's are over 1" smaller in diameter than the 185's. !95/55's would've been a much closer match with a diameter of 23.41".

[QUOTE=pabsan;107452]i have mine with 205/50/R16, with original springs and suspension. it rubs with road imperfection
Hi pab! the size of your tyres are just fine for yaris, however if you finds them rubbing then you should probably check on the width or the offset of your rims..
The guy at your shop was right, if you replace your standard coil springs with the sport ones, it will be less bouncy and hopefully less rubbing. Tanabe NF210 is great for your case, should try them!!

Blue one is an awesome color too:thumbup: there is no rubbing at all
I use this Tire Calculator on
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos
the Overall Diameter of 215/40R17 is only + .03 compare to the OEM 185/60R15
, which is the closest overall diameter you can get to our OEM wheels in a 17in wheel (If your speedometer reads: 65, You're going approximately: 65.08)
205/45R17 would be + .52 bigger than the OEM 185/60R15 (If your speedometer reads: 65, You're going approximately: 66.42
the Tire Calculator is really helpful for you to pick the tire size thats as close to the OEM size as possible
PS. Blazing Blue and white wheels match up real good too
thanks..
i will seriously consider this white color rims + Blue Yaris..
Since my Yaris is not as fast as those frikin' Civics, i'll make sure it will beat them at least in looks.

Looks awesome! Does it rub a lot?
Thanks 39; I had to lower it as much as possible for the Yaris contest back in June, but don't drive it that low for my daily use, it rubs a little only when I drove over a bumpy road. Guess because I use a harder spring rate. At least have to increase the height by 10mm front and rear to be safe.

Ok... well, that looks pretty nice....
Here's my opinion,
I don't why a lot of people like black/charcoal rims. I think the design style of those particular rims are awesome, however i would prefer either silver or white as oppose to black. I mean, whenever i see those types of dark rims it looks like as if it's the stock rims w/ no hubcaps... you know what i mean?
Again, this is just my opinion. I'm not trying to talk smack about your rims... heck, you're lucky- i don't even have any custom rims on my Yari yet, i'm still rolling on "14 hubcaps lol. My pockets have cobwebs! haha.

I have no problem with you not liking the black/charcoal rims. I have a set of rims that are Black and I personally love them. They're bling w/o the shine =p They attract people if interested but those that just take a quick glance will just pass them by. I like it when people like my car and give me quote(s) about it (good or bad) but I just don't want the whole world to know that I got them when rolling into a school campus parking lot and possibly becoming a victim. ALL you loud stereo people kinda know what I'm saying. You get them cause you like them, heck may even like the attention, but at the sametime don't want to attract the wrong people (hence most lower their system pulling up in lots and home). Sure can't do anything about it when you're off in a building and your car gets violated...
Besides, it follows into the theme of my car too..."It's modded but can you tell?" or as my friends call it "The other type of sleeper"

An old Air Force Military Base. Those are the bunkers. Used to go back there when I was little when it was considered trespassing and we had access to the buildings. Now it's all boarded up and made into a State Park.
Looks like he posted they're 16's, ET42, with 195/50 rubber.
Yeh R16 he said, but I wasnt sure if that meant the wheel size.

BSA 364 style wheels. 16" x 7", offset currently unknown, although if I ever take one off, I intend to check.
Tyres are 205/50/R16 Maxxis, nothing special but still a sight better than the Dunlop SP10s that came from the factory.

Most people put larger wheels on, but I decided to go the other way and go with the 14" wheels. Thought some may be interested in the appearance. Not really after high speed takeoffs. Do most of my acceleration after I'm moving and that is pretty rare. Mostly playing with fuel economy. This wheel/tire combo is 24 pounds each (9 pounds for wheel and 15 pounds for tires).
That's my 1999 Civic Si in front of the Yaris:biggrin:
AWESOME !!!!!!
You have exactly the same wheel as me, and same color of wheel :w00t:
Those 9 lb is awesome
This is mine with Kosei K1 TS also, the shop weighed mine 9.2 lb though.

I am diggin' the 14"s. I wonder if 13s would fit over the brakes? :) Coming from the Mini world the 13" wheel was the biggest that was ever offered. Earlier cars had 10" or 12" wheels.
Small is better in my world. :)

"hubcentric rings", r they really intended to do what they do? i mean i never found any difference with or without the rings. i guess i need to check my wheels for balancing. is there any allignment issue that i should also consider ?

Hubcentric rings can prevent vibration at speed. Double check wheel balance. Shouldn't be an alignment issue.
