New Member, New Yaris

Hello All! Just bought a 2010 Yaris yesterday as a second car, and after a fair amount of research, I feel like I got the most bang for the buck in this vehicle. I've been driving a Mustang GT as my only car (not a good idea, especially in the winter), so I wanted front wheel drive, economy, and of course dependability. Ultimately, after a lot of research, I narrowed my search to the Ford Focus (had 2 of those before, and liked them), and the Yaris. I preferred the somewhat different styling of the Yaris, and the fact that it was a 3 door (no 2010 Focus hatches on the lots I looked at). My daughter has had 2 Toyota vehicles (a Corolla and now an FJ), and strongly suggested I go with the Yaris, as opposed to the Focus. I feel like I made the right move. Lots of goodies in the car (power windows, CD, A/C, keyless entry, etc), and the dealer treated me right. So, while I expect most people in this forum will be fans, any things about the car good or bad that might surprise me? :) Thanks!

Mark

Bad - Paint vs Stones/Rock Salt. Stones/Rock Salt wins.

Otherwise it's all good.

Congrats, enjoy, and welcome to the community.

Thank you for the info and welcome! I'm almost hoping we get at least some significant snow here this season, just so I can see how it does. :)

only coupe/sedan foci for gen 3 in north america....so you'd be hard pressed finding a 2010 focus hatch on any lots...

welcome to the yaris club though, look into snow tires.

Hey congratulations! You guessed it, we all love the car!

a couple of things to watch out for:
- Paint is thin so keep it waxed.
- car "dances" a little bit in the wind.
that's pretty much it! Mine is approaching 60K miles and runs like clockwork

Enjoy your new car and welcome to YW!

I'll take some pics later today, as that crazy little thing called work prohibits me from doing so sooner. :)
