I think the BB you got is great, and it makes sense if you would rather use your phone to actually make calls and send messages and stuff. The Nexus One is basically a great little computer with lots of potential... But I've read that the call quality is not the best, and it can't be all that great to send a lot of SMS messages with a touchscreen.

So, in a nutshell, it completely depends on how much you actually use your phone as an actual phone, and how much use (or not) you would have from all the extra features that the N1 provides.

That's kind of the point exactly. I don't need to surf the net 24/7. A lot of people I know have gotten the iPhone instead of their land line or whatever. I already have a land line, + t1 everywhere I go. I think I'll survive if I don't have a full browser in my pocket for a couple of hours

So I think that BB will answer my immediate needs just fine (just the same way my Yaris gets me from point A to point B).

To be honest, I don't think the N1 is completely ready just yet. There are some little things that don't work quite right. For ex., you can do voice commands but you can't if you're using a blue tooth headset? It's got the fastest processor on the market, but it's having problems running on TMobile's 3G network? I don't know. I think I'm gonna let the kids do the beta testing and wait for the N2 or N3. We'll see.

There's going to be more devices on the market comes Spring, and you and I both know the minute the money changes hand and I buy something (anything!) then the next best thing will be released on the market.

i see that tmobile as added an upgraded MyTouch as of a couple of days ago? (with a 3.5 mm jack and 8G on board out of the box) and some new phones are about to come out in the Spring. I wonder if I jumped the gun a little bit with my purchase ***sigh***

And it doesnt matter when you buy a phone, there is always gonna be something new out there, something that makes people turn their heads for a few seconds...once you find something you like stick with it....they all eventually fade out...no point waiting for the "newest new phone" you'll never get one then haha

I agree with that. I was actually just gonna say that to Shroomster

The trick I guess is to find the right phone in the first place. Once you do, then don't look back because they keep coming out with new stuff every 3 months, so whatever you get is "obsolete" almost right out of the box

I'm 85% happy with the BB so far. There is a LOT to like . But I don't know if I want to look at a screen that small for the next 2 years, so I guess I have got to decide that.

The N1 (with a huge screen but no physical KB) continues to have G3 connectivity problem.

My current carrier is coming out with a gorgeous HTC HD2 in a couple of months at most

http://www.phonedog.com/cell-phone-l...n_htc-hd2.aspx

but it runs on WinMo. I'd rather have the Android OS.

Thanks. I've been reading up quite a bit since I first posted, but ultimately if you want the users' impressions, forums like the one you just pointed to are a good place to go ask your questions. I'm there now, checking it out. Good stuff There is a crackberry forum, too, a wealth of info in there.
