I'm rather amazed at that. Back in the '60s and '70s, only high strung race engines put out that sort of power, and this one will also happily grunt uphill at 1400 RPM. And then along come young whippersnappers berating the Yaris for having no power!

My '92 Honda CBR 250RR makes 45hp stock @ 16500rpm.

That's 180hp/L. But it only makes a lowly 18lb/f torque 12000rpm.

Yep. Motorcycles have put out some astounding specific power figures for a long time, by buzzing up to really high RPM by automotive standards.
