I'd like to point out that both of these man are Harvard Graduates. Believe it or not, Bush has a Harvard MBA, which is not given away like Cracker Jack Prizes. An MBA from Harvard and Wharton Business School (U. Penn) are considered the two top MBAs in the US. You have to earn a Harvard MBA, and you earn it by doing lots and lots of tough projects in classwork. If anyone has proof that Bush bought his degree I'd like to hear it, and if it is possible to buy a Harvard Degree what does that tell you about the value of a Harvard Degree? Most of the leadership at GM and most other major US firms contain Harvard MBAs. During the 1960s the "Whiz Kids" of the Kennedy Administration were Harvard Business school Alumni. Their leader, Robert McNamara, was a PhD who taught at the Harvard Business School. Nobody questioned their brains then or now, even though they made a mess of the Viet Nam War. Bush was a failed business owner. A Harvard degree apparently isn't a guarantee of success. A Havard JD, which Obama earned, is one of the top legal degrees in the US. Obama edited the Havard Law Journal, which is normally done by upper class Law Students at Harvard. I am not sure if the assignment of Editor is done by class standing or an election. I do know if Obama was top of his class we'd have heard it repeatedly. I have not heard so. Obama was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review. He did some modest amounts of casework with his Harvard JD before going into politics. Harry Truman went into politics with a high school degree, which proves that you don't need a Harvard JD to do well in politics. Doesn't even help that much. A Harvard degree apparently isn't a guarantee of of success, if Obama didn't use it to rise to the top ranks of the legal profession that he worked so hard to educate himself. He's not a lawyer, he's a politician. To me all this photo montage shows is that Bush is more experienced at fast ball pitching, while Obama is probably less experienced. I got this suspicion that Obama would do a better job on a Basketball Court than Bush. Both men profited politically from the "Housing Boom". Neither one is being held accountable for the resulting crash. Both screwed up handling it, with "stimulus packages" which were Pinatas for the monied classes. Neither one read the histories of the Great Depression, which clearly showed the "stimulus packages" do NOT do a damn thing for economic activity. Pity that the American people could do better than either of these two. Gene |

Gene,
We've all experienced Bush's inability to form intelligent and/or complete sentences. I simply do not see how that man got an MBA from Harvard without an extraordinary amount of outside help or influence (either monetary, or something like tutoring/coaching/editing/etc). To make the case, as you seem to want to make, that he earned it fairly through hard work is I think, problematic at best. This point addresses the MBA only, not leadership, political prowess, good or bad job while in office, etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZtL7sSZqhs Being articulate does not make you intelligent nor vice versa. One of the most Intelligent people I ever met, who worked on the guidance systems for the MX Missile, was a from a steel town in northern PA and sounded almost retarded. Earned a MS in Applied Math in a "3 plus 2" program at CMU. I've seen Bush in "intimate" interviews. He does not bang up words too often when he's talking "one on one". I would not be remotely surprised if he does that on purpose, to appeal to many folks who also bang up words, by making his public appearnces into burlesques. I don't stick up for Bush as much as I refute the idea that the "Progressives" have some sort of "alternative". I think both camps are pretty reprehensible people when they get total control of things. Gene |

I think they are both an insult to politics.
Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves right now at the amazing failure we have created. We can all chalk that up to the lazy, entitlement society we have become. It's disgusting. |

I've said it before, and I know I'll say it again, but anyone who WANTS to be President is automatically the wrong man for the job.... |

^ and that the population isn't proactive to create something better.
Our founding fathers would be mad at US, not the politicians. I'll bet VERY few on here have done ANYTHING but complain about "how bad it is". I'm embarrassed to admit that includes me. I write letters and the occasional check -- LAME.

Here's a nice look at 100 years of Presidential first pitches - from the English press - to compare pitching style (or lack thereof...)

So true in too many ways. I hate them around my area of town. They always go under the speed limit.
