Hey guys, I think I'm finally at my breaking point ... I need some spiritual support here as much as possible. This last year I have had numerous family members pass away, friends pass away, and yesterday my stepbrother was killed in the tornado outside of Scottsboro, AL when his truck was picked up and thrown in to a tree. My step-mom has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer (and she's never drank in her life), and I really just think it's time to ask if y'all can throw us in your thoughts and prayers because I really need some help hoping this crap will turn around.

That is all ... for now. This last year has sucked.

Sorry for the lost Jinni,but before anything you need to have faith, sure all the guys and gals here can have you in their prayers, but you need to be positive for yourself and your family, I've been there J. Accept god into your heart and the rest will follow, now for thos reading this I haven't been to church in more than 15 years, but god is in my thoughts 24/7 BTW, just be positve Jinni and all will work out fine, hugs nena and I will also pray for you and yours,

Ah, sorry I missed that thread. I saw the "prayer" title and stayed away...

The only thing I can tell you in case that helps any, is that in my opinion, we go through cycles in life, sometimes everything works out OK and then we hit a bad cycle and everything seems to fall apart all at once. And then, one day, when all seems lost and you feel like you just can't take it anymore, all of a sudden, bam, you're out of the cycle. I don't know how to explain it but it seems to have worked that way for me. There are bad periods and then they're over, and then they start again. It's just a matter of going through it all and having faith that you will make it through.

Stuff that helps, IMO: turn to your friends (online too), turn to what makes you happy, to make it through. For me, it's hanging out with the dogs at the coffee shop, going for a walk with my iPod and forgetting all other responsibilities for a couple of hours or so, or going to the movies, volunteering (makes me forget my own problems) stuff like that. It helps you cope, I think.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is hang in there, and keep you chin up and eventually the "bad cycle" will be over.
