I love that front lip. Now where do I get one?

If I see that grille one more time then I am going to go insane. I need to find one.

The eyebrows look nice too.

Right there at the edge of the shadow... Also, not to get off topic, but the color and clarity of your pictures are amazing! Can you provide a few details, like what kind of camera you are using, are you 'enhancing' the photos any? Thanks!

Hot damn thats a angry looking yaris. I cant wait to get my grill back from the bodyshop tomorrow. But atlas its raining in my area so going to be a week before i can install it.

I also had my rear chrome piece on the trunk color matched too to give the rear end a wider appearance. Ill post pics up as soon as i get everything installed. Also have my bottom lip to install at same time.

I'm real curious about the rear chrome piece. That's like the only piece of chrome on my sedan, besides the Yaris badge. I've toyed with color matching it. So when it's done, definately post up some pics! I'm looking forward to seeing the 'end' results.

I been debating about painting it for awile. Every day i see corollas and camrys on the road with the piece color matched and gives the car a cleaner look. But on the yaris they made it chrome for whatever reason. It makes the rear end look smaller and makes our already subcompact car even more compact looking.

It looks much better in the light. Was raining today though. As you can tell it makes the rear end of the car look a lot wider. Parked next to my brothers corolla from the back they look nearly the same size. Before with the chrome in the center is where your eyes are drawn to it makes the car appear smaller. To me has a more clean look.

Thanks! I like the look too. Must have been the angle on those other pics as the Toyota emblem is not painted. My bad.

One more question, did you replace the turn signal bulb with something other than yellow? In your pictures I don't see the yellow bulb. I recall someone did that but I don't remember who...

Yeah i have chrome tail light bulbs they do flash yellow though when signalling. I have chrome reverse lights too that give a very bright white light when backing up.

If you look up the part number for the bulb just type it in the search on ebay with the word chrome. Or use the search button i think someone had posted a good brand and bulb type before.

By the way, my grill, is very similar to the one that Cali Yaris is selling, except I had it customized, I had the bottom bump below the toyota logo shaved to make it thinner. I also added black vinyl on the top lip to make it two tone. Added the chrome trim, and viola! it looks totally unique now.

Thanks vios7! I got it off of ebay, its about $14 but shipping to the philippines is like $35 so about $50 but I definatly think its worth it, coz it really stands out, especially if you have a mesh grill.

Just do a search on ebay for yaris and you'll hit one of the auction pages for sure.

yeah I thought about that before, since I already had the chrome trim on the trunk, it made sense to have it in front as well, heheh it makes my vios look unique too. I like the outcome, I was skeptical at first, I said to myself, I'll buy it, if I dont like it I'll just sell it cheap, but it turned out ok afterall and I'm pretty happy with it :)

Yeah, I like it for that reason too. I have pieces of chrome here and there (well, since the trunk trim was chrome, I went and bought chrome license plate frames). I like the chrome "wing" you have, but I really don't think it'll look nice on mine for the reason I stated earlier :frown:

The front splitter i got on ebay. I thikn i payed liek 20 bucks for it. It looks like some weatherguard stuff that you could probally get at home depot. The eyelids i took a pic of the other night were held on by masking tape lol. Just to test fitment. I just put them on few minutes ago with 3m mounting tape so now they are held securely. I will take some better pics tomorrow with my digital camera this are just cel phone pics.

Cool. Yeah, I'm planning on making a front lip extension and/or a rear lip extension/diffuser-look one day. I have to ask my friend what he bought from HD when he made his front lip for his 240.

I just got my new spoiler installed... I just realized, mine is a bit different, most of the spoilers Ive seen use a clear LED housing with only 6 LEDs (like KaoticLasagna's), mine has a red LED housing and 36 LEDs! I have to take pics of it with the brakes depressed, I'll re post those later.

It is a very nice community on the Ohio River. There is a long and wide access road that goes right down to the river. They have a pretty large military truck and they have a huge (i mean huge) trailer for hauling boats out of the water. It is fun to watch too. There are 2 large cranes that accompany the boat. It takes about 3 hours to get one from the shop down to the river which is about and 1/8th of a mile.

His boat is one of the larger boats in the community. The other one is a newer cruiser but he has his own dry dock down in Florida.

MIne is 'S' Asean version. I like the look because its not too extreme . I like something simple BUT elegant. i think this bodykit suit for me..lol.

TRD is better compare to oem bodykit. airmaster bodykit also looks good. A lot of my frens here install TRD for vios. Here in malaysia, toyota will launch TRD Vios i think maybe on may this year. The bodykit same like yours but the accesories inside 100% original by TRD. They already test drive/press conference at Sepang F1 international circut.

hmm yeah I sorta like the simple but elegant feel, TRD body kit is really aggressive I think, but its ok. I actually just got the S type spoiler over the TRD ones. I hope my friend in the US pushes through in sending me the TRD springs, so I have some real TRD hardware aside from the bodykit and little accessories like, a shift knob and an oil cap! hehhee :headbang: boy would I like to have sportivo shock absorbers as well.

Thanks jpadua, if these are the same projectors you have in the philippines then you should get a set if you don't already have them.

Oh a bunch of projectors are coming in... not bixenon, but more like the projectors in the US for ScionTC, with 1 projector for low beam, one high beam, ccfl rings and Leds for park lights. Thats going to look bad ass.. I'll post it up once I get a photo.

daaaaaammnnnn
i should of brought my headlights and go them done when i was there a month ago hah

jpadua
03-31-2009, 08:51 AM
They gonna be like the depo lights? That would require a little bit of wiring trickery as well cause we only use 1 bulb for hi/low. I know for sure it can be done but you will have to figure out which wire/wires control high beams and they you will have to make a harness. Still cannot wait to see them though.

Yeah, thats true, wiring has to be re done in some way, definately not a plug and play thing, not unless the headlight assemblies come with them. These projectors are already housed in headlight assemblies so you replace the whole headlight.

jpadua
03-31-2009, 10:41 AM
The Projectors I just bought came in factory jdm housing and the usdm plugs on the harness for the parking and turn signal bulbs did not fit so I had to take apart the jdm housings pull the projectors and put them in my usdm housing, but the jdm headlights did not come with the harness that plugs into those spots so might have been a different outcome if they did. Are the ones you getting come with that or a harness for these bulbs?

I havent really seen them yet, but I should have photos by next week. If ever, there might be some wiring that has to be done to make them work, but the housings should fit thought :)

Hey Miguel, yeah why not!

hmm, as for the color maybe white and yellow so it stands out against the blue color? but thats just me :) check some color combination charts online to see which colors would compliment nautical blue. All white would do just fine too I think.

Well, prices may differ there and over here, but mine was roughly $30 (converted from our currency). It was pretty affortable!

@yarisSedan, post pics with your eyelids, I'm sure they look sweet!

Hi Jay! It's very interesting to see your spoiler. I wish I can install one for my Vios. May I know where did you buy your spoiler and how much? I hope you can share information regarding your spoiler. Please text me if you can share information at this num: 09205860053.

Wow havent visited this thread lately! nice to see a lot of new modifications, custom bumpers...

@smofskra - love what you did with the LED tail lamp... does it come like that already? or did you paint it?

@JumpmanYaris - congratulations on your custom bodykit! nice!!!

@viosnunza - is that an Aeroklas SRV bodykit? the sideskirt and rear look a bit different, but nice combination, really nice!

I'm also changing my bodykit soon, just ordered the Vios GT Street... I hope it comes this week, will post photos when I get them installed.

hey J, i saw your post in the underground forum concerning some retrofit projectors your working on. how are those turning out?

Hi Legato!

Well Ive got my plans laid out... I already know which parts to get. All I really need now is to get them shipped over here... I have a friend in the US who's going to bring it home, so I just gotta get his address so I can have it shipped.

I've read up a lot on retrofitting, its seems very doable in theory, but I have yet to try it...

Basically you've gotta be ready to do some cutting inside your headlamps, so I'm getting surplus headlight assemblies. You have to manually install and seal the projetors in. What makes it look good would be the shrouds.

I'm getting my parts here - http://www.theretrofitsource.com

These are the projectors
http://store.theretrofitsource.com/images/fx35_01.jpg

And these are the shrouds
http://store.theretrofitsource.com/images/e46_tsx.jpg

This is how it might look when its done
http://www.jaypadua.com/vios/projector/mockup.jpg

I gotta order them soon for free shipping within the US.. I have to get that address!

anyway as soon as I get my parts, I'll update that blog entry.

jpadua,
You did an amazing job with the chrome touches! Often chrome is mis-used or over over used, you have just the right ammount to compliment the car.

Thanks! and you are exactly right... chrome can easily be abused! if you know where to put the right touches, it will actually make your car look like a higher trim/model. Just never put them on your headlights and taillights, behind the door handles, and on your cheek lights, you'll be fine :D

I base my chrome touches on higher toyota models like the camry, to find out the proper places to put them. I also look at benzes, bmws and other high end cars to get a feel for the high end look.

@legato, jumpan

dude it aint funny... I think its an addiction, I need some mods rehab hahahah... just kidding...

I just make the money go around my car... sold my old wheels, sold my fujitsubo muffler, sold my soul hahah kidding.. then used that to get a new set (well slightly used rims).

i've been meaning to ask you this, how did you make your front lip look so defined?

for example; the difference between yours and this person's kit here:

Yes i know they are both different kits, but you can see how jpadua's front lip stands out a lot more.

I guess its really the design of the lip, its much bigger, and cuts off the curve of the front bumper.

Thanks by the way :)
