I think he put blue LED's on the inside of the handle or doesn't garm sell those handles? or was garm's LED handles on the outside?

Okay, since I was a third way into the wear bar on two of my tires and half a mm away from the bars on the other two, I decided to get new tires. I wanted the General Exclaim UHP, and then just repair and powder coat my "Ikari's". But for the same price or less, I found a set of Giovanni G817H with Lexani LX9100's. So since I also wanted a more flush look, as well as something less sporty looking, I picked them up. On to the pics (yeah, I know my car is really dirty, it rained outta no where).
Old rims and dead Falken's weigh in at 38.4 lbs each.

Started smelling burning rubber within a mile of driving (total of 4 people in the car), and just drove for about 5 miles total (couldn't turn back right away). I had someone pull up next to me and tell me to roll down my window to say that one of my tires was smoking :(
I'll be taking out the rear hub spacers, and install them only for shows. I'll also be putting some rubber spring spacers in the rear.

Hey AdeJong, im interested in how you did your fenders.. 20mm is plenty! I'm changing my rims soon as well, I might run into rubbing problems coz my new rims would be 8" wide.
Hope you can post some pix of your fender.
So you would recommend cutting over rolling fenders?

I got them used, so they were pretty curbed already. That's the reason why I don't think I can get anything higher than $200 for them. I also have access for powdercoating for $50 for all four. I would have kept them and just repaired them, but I'm not sure if I want to put all the time and effort into it. hahaha.
They're nice rims, but the offset is only +40. Yeah, I guess spacers can solve that problem. hahahaha.

They're 17x7. Powdercoating will be ~$50. However, they will have to be repaired and sanded prior to powdecoating. You might want to PM Clark (MiniTRD) to see if he has a source to do the labor. hahaha.
As for shipping, I entered a box dimension of 23"x8"x23" with a weight of 38.4lbs and got this:
Express MailŪ [More info about Express MailŪ]
Tue, Jul 20 by 3 PM $152.10
Express MailŪ Hold For Pickup [More info about Express MailŪ Hold For Pickup]
Tue, Jul 20 by 3 PM $152.10
Priority MailŪ [More info about Priority MailŪ]
2 days $38.30
Parcel PostŪ [More info about Parcel PostŪ]
5 days $22.03
That's per rim, so all four would be at least $150 for shipping, and that's if I can find a box with those dimensions.
Kaotic Lazagna
07-19-2010, 04:53 AM
If someone can show/tell me how to dismount the tires, I'm sure shipping will be far less as the 912's weigh in around 22 lbs or something like that from what I remember.
I subtracted just 20 lbs to be safe, and this is what I got:
Express MailŪ [More info about Express MailŪ]
Tue, Jul 20 by 3 PM $83.50
Express MailŪ Hold For Pickup [More info about Express MailŪ Hold For Pickup]
Tue, Jul 20 by 3 PM $83.50

Hey guys! I this maybe a little off topic, but I created this new website! It's a classified ads website specifically for wheels. Its a neat concept coz I've always wanted a single place where you can go and look for wheels used or new, instead of jumping into so many different forums everywhere.
http://www.wheelsearcher.com
I just finished it, logo not even final yet but the classifieds are operational! So if you guys have any rims you'd like to sell, create an account and post it! Or if you know of anyone selling, please tell them about it. I need help getting it filled with ads.
I hope you guys can help me out, It's perfect for wheel whores hahah. :) Thanks and sorry for the Off-topic

It's been there since I bought it in 2007 and I was always wrestling with taking it off or not. I thought it kinda complimented the tint...

Well, you're in the sedan thread! Haha!
A "drop" and rims/tires make the biggest visual improvement, then it's little things like eyelids, grills, center exit exhaust, etc. Subtle touches while retaining a "clean" look. I rebadged my car at the rear and shifted around the badges, now I get double-takes all the time with people trying to figure out what the heck a Vios is! That's what I like anyway.

Thanks Herbi,
Your car looks great!
I have thought about getting a little drop.... don't know yet. Does it take away from performance? I live in Canada and have to deal with winter driving.
All I have done to it so far is tinted it and debadged it. Haha I get looks from people trying to figure out if its a Carolla or Camery! haha
Herbicidal
08-13-2010, 05:23 PM
Thanks! Regarding the drop and performance, the lower center of gravity helps with cornering, although the ride does stiffen up depending upon how you lower your car. I've only used the TRD lowering springs with the stock shocks. Definately get a rear anti-sway bar! Huge cornering improvement! If you need to deal with chains, cables or other options, you would want something that will still clear your fender wells without tearing anything up on your car. Perhaps your fellow Canadians will chime in and share their experiences.

Thanks Dan! well, its a bit different in my case cause my car is a Vios coz I live in the PI, funny thing, over here people re badge their vios to belta or yaris S and paint the clear signals amber hahaha. Anyway we have a lot off Vios accessories over here, but just the regular replacement stuff. All the neat aftermarket stuff is in Thailand.
My grill came from Thailand. I had someone buy it for me at the Rstyleracing store. But I have purchased a lot of other things from their website... www.rstyleracing.com these guys have so much goodies! although their website is in Thai, and it would be difficult to purchase from the website. What I did was I contacted them directly through email, told them the item I wanted to order. They gave me their paypal account and as soon as I sent payment, they emailed me right away with shipping info.
oh about lowering, it would really look so much better, but if you use chains for snow, having it too low might give you a problem. If you just use snow tires then you can lower it nicely.

Hey thanks. Yeah i did some mix and match. the front is Aeroklas srv kit. but the side skirt and rear are from TRD sportivo kit which is actually an OEM kit for a top grade sedan being sold over here.
Here's another shot of my ride and my friend's. Take note that my friend is using fully trd sportivo bodykit.

search for the DIY on how to paint or black out the headlights...you essentially have to bake your housing, pull apart, remove the amber panel and then reseal. I have seen in person when someone has done that and it looks shotty IMHO. If you are concerned with having clear corners then your best bet would be to buy a pair of Vios HLs since they have clear corners. You can find them on eBay in SW Asia from time to time.

Yup, and that color...
Brian, is that a factory color in the Philippines? It looks great, wish we had it in the US. Interestingly enough, there's 3 kinds of blue that the sedan is available in in the states, yet none as nice as yours.
We get Blue Streak Metallic, Pacific Blue Metallic, and Zephyr Blue Metallic for the sedan.
Then the LB has Blazing Blue Pearl, and Bayou Blue Pearl.
Amazing how many blues Toyota paints the Yaris with, and all very different.

As far as I know it was only a factory color in North American. Only available for the '07 and '08 sedans. It is available on many other Toyota vehicles. The paint code is 8S6 and called nautical blue.

nice to see another Jade Sea in the ranks. in all honesty seeing your stock suspension really shows me the difference since I installed my AMR springs. if you are considering the sway bar you very well may want to consider lowering springs. the springs made it feel like a whole new car to me, for the better.

kaotic, dayum, how did you get your yaris that low on Tein springs? were on the same springs, but my fender gap is big compared to yours.
Remember in VUG, you guys found that there are two versions of the S.Tech's there in the PI. hahahaha. That's with my rear lifted 1/2" too. hahaha.

Hey laz.... Ive dropped it significantly already heheh.. take note, im running Falkens, 205/40 stretched over 17x8 so my tire diameter is slightly lower :) therefore already lower by half an inch to begin with, with a bigger fender gap.
Here are photos for comparison
Front Before (Tein S.Tech)

Hey bro! I didnt realize it was you until you replied! good job on the rims! im so jealous hehehe... its so great to find rims that are 4x100 :) changing the knuckle to 5 stud is sorta like cheating hahah LOL. Its really a challenge to find 4x100 rims that are really nice, brand and specs wise, so finding one is like finding gold! heheh congrats bro. Ride update: VIOS 08
Still have a long way to go.. but getting there slowly I think :) posting this to share to other vios owners. Vios hard to flush with stance, front liner too shallow. Rear has not camber adjustment. Here are some thing I did to remedy that. Hope this would be useful to other Vios owners.
Added additional -1 degree camber using EZ Shim on rear wheels, so it comes out to about -1.5? (including the natural camber on the drop). Went back to my 5mm spacer, but damn, I felt like I was murdering my tires on the free way... I hate our roads here... I'll try to use a bigger Spring Cushion to lessen the shock play, maybe it would help. Rim to fender now at 5cm, used to be 6cm. Rear dampers at Full Stiff.
Front wheels now at -1 degree camber, also lowered an additional half inch. Rim to fender now at 6cm. Dampers at 5 clicks (1 soft - 8 hard)
Used a heat gun on the liner, it works like a charm!!! Liner rubbing.... GONE!, heated it up, took a wet rag and pushed it in. The water from the wet rag, hardened the plastic in seconds.
Here are some pix:
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss67/jpaduadesigns/pitimini/OZ%20Futura/IMG_8223.jpg
Smaller space now in between, much... still flush though no poke. Once I find 205 35 18, I can fix that fitment.
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss67/jpaduadesigns/pitimini/OZ%20Futura/IMG_8225.jpg
Had to saw off a portion of my front lip kit to clear the tires when turning. My finger can barely fit in between.

I'm new here, but I've been a first gen (well US first gen since these existed overseas long before they came to the US) 2007 Yaris owner since I ordered mine from the factory and received it back in September 2006. It not has 59,000 miles on it... I'll likely hit 60,000 this week.
These photos are from when I first got it back in 2006. I need to take some more recent photos of it. I just got some of it re-painted to fix paint missing from rock chips in the front of the car and to fix places where luggage had removed paint in the back of the car... so my car got re-polished again and looks like new on the paint now which makes me very happy.
I plan to get new wheels for it at some point, still riding the originals and the plastic hubcaps have gotten scratched up a bit... I've got my eyes on some nice looking wheels for later in the year.
Also my boyfriend just bought himself a new stereo for his 1993 Toyota Supra, so once he gets his current stereo out of there (which is actually a really nice one, he just got himself an even nicer one, heh) we're going to get a new fitting for where my audio stuff is currently and install his "old" stereo system in my car :) (that will probably happen in the next month or two)

new look
Hey do you still have the fender liner In ur car ?
I am gonna say no, but just curious, I just had mine replaced because the 18" I had on the car rubbed every where in the liner and it wore the hell out of it and I was scared water might cross over to where the fogs are and damage them.

Looks very stealthy JumpmanYaris. Just curious why you haven't added color matching eyelids? I think it would give your car an even more sinister look. My .02 anyway.

Maybe one of your pics can be photoshop'd to see what it would look like. Personally, I think it gives the car (especially the sedans) a more squinty-eye aggressive look vs this: . I've fooled quite a few people who were trying to figure out what my car is with the addition of those eyelids. Haha! Regardless, I like the look of your ride.
