lol. They're projector foglights, but not specifically made for the sedan. My friend actually just gave them to me. All I know is they take H3 bulbs. I cut out the factor foglamp covers (since my car never came with foglights) with nothing but a Xacto knife. HAHA. We made custom brackets to mount them, and just lazily wired them to the parking lights. So if my parking lights are on, they are on.
I was afraid that would be the case. Oh well.
Anyone have a set of these wheels fs?
Yeah, there's still room. Here's a couple of closer pics from the front and back.
There is an xb in my parking lot rocking these I can see if he's tying to part with them.

Yea they are a lot harder to resource that I thought. But a drop is in the plan. I do want fog lights first.

It's actually my daily drive. The Yaris is my wife's car. I've been slowly modding her car now. But she's really resistant to modding. Im still trying to convince her that her car needs a drop. But she hates how I have to drive with my car. I actually went through 3 sets of VSXX's in different colors (burning black, burning silver, crystal silver). Im current on step lip Work Equips (lightning silver).

I removed the vortex generators a long time ago in favor of the simple roof spoiler. I didn't want the sporty look anymore. I still have to repaint my brake caliper, either black or a dark gold.

Believe it or not, this is actually a universal trunk lid spoiler. lol. I just trimmed the sides off and slapped it on. I got it from a member here who was going to toss it because he gave the seller the wrong dimension (it was too short for the trunk). I don't have a grinder, so I couldn't round off the ends. =(

Thnx. I combed the web looking for a real rear skirt/diffuser, but could never find anything outside the scope of an entirely new rear bumper..Which then would mean I would need side and front pieces.
No sir. Can of paint and some tape and called it a day.
Seeing how nice the sedan looks lowered by you guys, that might be my next mod. I'm also thinking about drilling two holes on my rear bumper (carefully), and running the exhaust out of them. I think that'd look decent, and probably necessary if I lower it.
Yes drop needs to be done immediately.

@ ChitownY@Ris you wouldn't need to poke the tips if you go lowered unless you go with coilovers, bags, or stupid low springs. I am running 2" dropped with my 15s during the winter on 185/55s and don't have an issue. Also, you are running a stock motor right?

This^^ I am slammed on coilovers and I have no ground clearance issue. Even speed bumps barely scratch my frame which is already lower than your guts.

Stock motor still. Car is paid off in 6 months then Im debating over a blitz sc, or trading into an Evo X mr. Most likely blitz sc though as no car payments plus reliable toyota should be win.
no sir evo x mr is super ultra mega win.
ChitownY@Ris
08-02-2012, 01:51 PM
Indeed lol. However 600/mo car note for the next 7yrs would kinda suck for me atm.
Third option is for the price of a new blitz (3500), Ive seen some '02-'03 sentra se-r spec v's floating around craigslist.
Suppose I could also look for some beat up neon srt-4, although while fun, it'd probably be the least reliable.
Yea thats a good option as well, keep the yaris for a reliable commuter and pick up a cheap used project.

I would say retint the fronts instead. I hate clear windows but I also live in FL. I had a window busted when my car was broken into so I am stuck riding around with one clear window too.
The grey hubcaps look reall good btw.

thanks man at first i thought they might look to dark but after a few days i knew they were fine. as for the tints i know what you mean by u hate clear windows. the main reason i had them was cuz sometimes i leave things in the car but i guess if someone wanted to break in the tints arent gonna stop them anyway

Beautiful as always! Your paint looks flawless.
Thanks
I try to keep the paint looking as new as possible. It's actually in better condition than from when I bought her new from the showroom floor minus the rock chips and a couple of (touched up) scratches from @$$hats. Aside from those, no swirl marks or anything like that.
What do you do that makes the paint in better condition? Is it from claybarring? I am trying to perfect my detailing skills, I used to be infamous on the local Honda forums for having swirl marks and shotty carwashes.

What do you do that makes the paint in better condition? Is it from claybarring? I am trying to perfect my detailing skills, I used to be infamous on the local Honda forums for having swirl marks and shotty carwashes.
So, my usual routine goes something like this:
-Thoroughly rinse the car off with a jet stream of water, including rims
-soap one panel at a time (one side of the wash mitt using no additional pressure, then flip over and apply pressure, all in linear movements, NEVER circular)
-rinse off the mitt
-move onto the next panel
-rinse off the mitt
-after two or three panels, go back and rewipe the previous panels with fresh soap to prevent any water spots or soap spots
-after the whole car is soaped, rinse thoroughly with jet stream of water
-remove hose head, and turn water to half power at most, and go over entire car to "water dry"
-spray Quik Detail spray on one panel and dry (I use an Absorber), then repeat for other panels (wring out the Absorber after every panel)
-change hose head to shower, and re-rinse the wheels
-soap the wheels (I use a different wash mitt designated solely for wheel duty)
-rinse the wheels with shower setting
-spray Quik Detail on rims and dry (using a different Absorber designated solely for wheel duty)
I don't even wanna list out what I do for a full detail job, but for waxing, it's apply wax section by section in the shade, and again, in linear motions, not circular. Conduct swipe tests to see when the wax is ready to be buffed off. For me, that's usually when I'm done applying wax to the entire car.
Buff off in the same linear movement or perpendicular, your chioce, just not in circular motions.
Once all the wax has been buffed off, turn water to half power (no hose head), and go over car to depolarize the surface.
Then repeat the drying process with the Quik Detail. lol
Wash once at least once a week, wax at least once a month, and a full detail at least once a year.
Full detail includes wash, claybar, polish, and wax for me (I see no point in sealing the paint when there's a clear coat over it). Polish is about the same steps as waxing, but you don't wait for it to fully dry before buffing off.
If you don't want to marr the paint and create swirl marks, never do anything in a circular motion, always in linear movements. You can try to correct swirl marks by using Swirl-X, and for heavily oxidized areas, Ultimate Compound. If you, or anyone has any questions about detailing, let me know.

Clay barring preps the surface for polishing and waxing. Polish is what makes the paint pop/more vibrant. For metallic and mica paints, I noticed that synthetic wax mutes the paint (makes it look like a fake mirror shine and prevents the flakes from really popping). I prefer regular carnauba wax (Gold Class) for the summer, and switch to synthetic wax (NXT) for the winter (synthetic protection lasts much longer than carnauba).

No problem. 99% of my stuff are Meguiar's. I'd go with those. For a wash mitt, make sure it's long haired and not short.

Mine are definitely an ugly purple, even though I've clay barred and waxed them over the years. I'll just buy a different set in the future as these aren't as functional as I'd like them to be.

i was thinking the same. i'm starting to believe almost anything goes with the cars in indonesia....
nothing is illegal in Indonesia :D... at one point , I had 35% on the windshield, and 5% limo tint all around .

Thanks for the comments. Front is 40%, side and rear are 60%.
And yes, there are no specific rules about windows tint here. However, some major streets do have specific rules eg. "3 in 1" area -- which stated that the vehicle should not have 'too dark' tint in such a way that would make the officer unable to see through the windows.
Still it is not related with driver's visibility though :P

yeah. i kinda always wanted a set of mesh wheels and have the flush look when i first got the car. i photoshopped something years ago of what i eventually wanted the car to look like. ive kinda grew out of it since then. instead im fine with lowering springs when i get the extra money.

I'm lookin for a few things for my Yaris. Its a Pearl Sand Black 2011 Sedan base model.
I wanna slowly deck it out with a few perks here and there, I like the simple and clean, lean and mean styles.
Heres a flick of my ride, Just cleaned it from top to bottom, inside and out.
Lookin for...
-Lip kit (JDM preferably)
-Gonna tint windows after winter time
-Decals (I've done my searching and you'll see that after awhile on my car)
-Rims (16 inches is what I'm lookin at.)
-Lowering Springs (1.5 inches low from stock height, I live in FL and roads aren't always flat here.)
-De-badge is a maybe...
But thats my plans so far...If no one likes it, I don't care for biased comments.
I'm just looking for some leads on the stuff I'm looking for.

Hey speakin of ridin low man...I kept thinkin about it so I might just take you up on that...no lip kit, no body mods just might drop it a bit but not sure how low and put some rims and just treat it as a daily driver cause thats exactly what its gonna be.:respekt:
Hey guys! just sharing my ride "Bochog" (Chubby). we've been together for 2 years.
*btw, anyone here with 1.5" lowering springs sitting on 15s who can share some of their photos/links perhaps? i got 15s and im planning to lower my car. thanks guys! :w00t:
@ Hanzo mines a daily as well. It is an adventure driving this low but you gotta be dedicated to the drop game. Sedans just don't look good unless super low IMHO. Laz has like the only sedan on springs that I love.
@bok 15s are too small for a sedan and you will deff have a ton of wheel gap with springs.
@1.5 thanks dude! i just wanted to see how it looks like on 15" rims.

I forgot I love jumpmans sedan too LOL
@Hanzo, if you follow the boards on micro image you'll see some of my trip to frame laying. I started with Megan coilovers, removed all my collars and perches, shortened my shock bodies in the rear which ended in a blown shock, replaced the shock, upgraded to 7kg springs in the rear, and now am looking at some shocks off a beamer and some even shorter springs. But laz once told me, you gotta pay to play. I don't regret any of it, I've learned so much and you should see my ride

^ i like those wheels, and the car looks good, but..yes there is a but...it needs some work on the stance around 1.5 inches would really make it look greater unless you are all slam crazy like 1.5 then drag the frame :D

I'd love to dump it to the ground (airride planned for the future, if not, any coilover kit that can at least slam it if not dump). I'm just in S.Tech springs right now and raised the rear maybe 0.25" using spring coil spacers since I used to have passengers riding in the back all the time (and I've also done the rear axle relocation mod, so worried about my rear brake line as well).
If you guys want to help fund my airride or coilover project, feel free

Also might be the angle/road level. My rear sometimes looks lower, and sometimes looks higher depending on the road I'm on and how I'm parked.
You can see the differences on how it looks:
No spring coil spacers in this one:

Spring coil spacers from now on:

nice to see another Jade Sea in the ranks. in all honesty seeing your stock suspension really shows me the difference since I installed my AMR springs. if you are considering the sway bar you very well may want to consider lowering springs. the springs made it feel like a whole new car to me, for the better.
Where can i get lowering springs that work on stock suspension?
