like hell I'm gonna give his sister a car... women drivers suck bad enough.. with her being asian too she would cost me way too much..
the only reason I buy Hyde's mom any vehicles is so she doesnt divorce me and take all my money.
The only rides Hyde's sister gets are when she rides me reverse cowgirl.

What do you guys think?? I went to my dealership today to ask them how much it was to lower the car. They told me $514 including everything, but they also told me I had to get the wheel allignment as well which will bring everything to about $600. Just wanted to know if you had to get your wheels alligned or not? Just wanted to know if it is neccessary to do the allignment or the dealership is just trying to get more money out of me.
Hoahmaru, which dealer did you go to in Calgary and quoted you for $600? On the toyota.ca website, under customization, that costs over $900. Maybe you can help me...? I am talking CAD $. Do you have a deal with them?

Hi I'm new. I'm officially Jealous of all you stick shift owners...wished in socal, more dealerships would sell more stick-shifts than autos...but oh well, I'll deal with it.
Well heres mine, about 3 1/2 months with it and loving it. Nothing special, no mods...thinking about it, but don't know if I should do it since its only a lease.
This picture is only a few weeks after I got it, I'll post more recent ones later.

Actualy no I didnt have to. I thought I did cause it sure seemed liek I had to but, no.
It took me aout 5 mins to figure it out and do it.
All You have to do is, take of the top plastic caps/screws, then gently lift and pull back a lil, and I saw where hte emblum was hooked on to. Then I grab my flat head screw driver and just push down on the hooks that where on top. then I gently pulled the top off and wiggled the bottom to come off. and wala! it was off.
Here are some pics:
Excuse the pic resulution. I took them from my camera phone. Was too excited and slaped it on right away. Took me about 5 mins.

I think with the car being relatively small, they want to give owners the impression that the car is much bigger, hence the high ride height and seat height. It's hard to argue with that logic since it actually works. The Yaris "feels" very big while you're driving it, and it probably wouldn't with 2" lower suspension and 2" lower seat height.
And that is a good thing why? I would rather feel low to the ground than high up.
eTiMaGo
01-10-2007, 03:53 AM
And that is a good thing why? I would rather feel low to the ground than high up.
Remember, one reason SUVs are so popular is that the seating position is so high, it's easy to see the road and your surroundings. (and makes you feel so haughty and important you drive an an a-hole )
The Yaris is after all being sold as a cheap reliable commuter car, designed for ease of living, in which case the high seating and high suspension is quite useful, giving a very good view of the surroundings.
For some people including yourself and I, we are more hot-headed than the demographic Toyota intended for this car. Hence, we wish it were more sport car-like, and would prefer lower seats and suspension, we don't mind losing a bit of visibility, so we pay for that kind of feature out of our pocket
Oh and Idjiit, the low seats and suspensions were a bit hard to adjust in the beginning, especially as the dash and door sills are quite high! The first time I drove it like this I ended up parking about 2 feet away from the curb  Definitely not for vertically-challenged people  But being closer to the road does give a much more dynamic driving feeling.
Impresive-G
01-10-2007, 04:16 AM
I dunno. I prefer being lower to the ground. Makes me feel more comfortable. one thing the designers messed up on is the windows. 1st issue is that if you role them down the air hit the door from inside slowing ur ass down a lot. Plus makes a wierd noise and makes the car rock, whitch is uncomfortable. 2nd issue is that theres so much window that the sun can get in ur way on some spots and the visor cant do shit about it.

i really liked both cars, but what toyota killed for me was the no tachometer on the 5spd liftback...i am that anal , but the Yaris hooked up right like the red one up there you have yourself a fresh ride. I dont know why toyota did not add a bodykit to the hatch and sell it the same price or just a bit less than the Fit...i paid sticker which was 15,760. I love my Fit , but toyota should have gotten a little more hardcore with the hatch...they would have had a true buyer here. Its all godd cause i am happy with the Fit

Hey all, Im new to the forums. I recently bought a 3door Yaris YRX. It wont stay stock for long... muahahaha
I got a custom muffler and 17x7.0 ANZ Voltech Shadow rims.
I already ordered a new Headunit from Pioneer. It's iPod compatible (cant remember the model, will post a picture later). Along with that I also ordered 2 12 inch subwoofers along with a 4 channel amplifier. Still saving up for the front speakers and rear speakers though.
Other plans I have with the poor little machine is to install Bride sports seats, maybe a Sparco steering wheel (the dealer said that since I have the SRS airbag in my stock steering wheel and therefore my display will go crazy), and also trimming the interior with black/blue leather.
I also want to lower my ride, but the lowest I can go is another 30mm (which is still kind of high, still leaves a gap). And it costs around 550 AUD to lower it 30mm (yikes...).
I want to get a better body kit as well, and another spoiler (cause mine is so small ...).
Anyway here are some pictures of my ride, I will post more pictures on wednesday (thats when I get my new headunit and subwoofers!)

Haha true, I just recently moved to Australia from Thailand. The Yaris' there have a different factory body kit (am I right? or am I mistaken..)
Mmmm... so yeah, still want some more exterior mods!
Hey, I've been reading these forums for a couple of weeks but haven't posted yet.
Ranggarn, LOVE the car, good to see some fellow Aussies on here. That colour, the same as "Blazing blue" in USA, is it called "cascade blue" or "caribbean blue" here? The Yaris website really distorts the colours, as it made the green look much nicer than it is.
I saw the softer blue, the ones USA call "Bayou" blue in the flesh at a show room too, it's growing on me too. I just don't know which blue is called what.

I was just kidding. I'm totally happy with the wheels. Yeah, they are Rota. I have no shame. I like the polish but I am not a chrome fane or a black with a polished lip fan. I got what I wanted. Now it is time to get it all tucked in with some Megans.

And once my wallet recovers for a bit I'm slappin' 16's and a lip kit on it...but that won't be for a while :frown: Especially since there's no lip kits for the Sedan yet :frown:
But I love it

Why have you tinted everything but the front windows? I know you're in another country (California), but even the weird laws there allow for 30% in the front.

Why have you tinted everything but the front windows? I know you're in another country (California), but even the weird laws there allow for 30% in the front.'Cause the cops where I work don't want ANY tints in the front, they'll make you take it ALL off if you have even a little. They're a-holes like that.

ja maar in nederland is niet zoveel te krijgen.
mistlampen bv, kost hier 458 euro
achterlichten van een TS 200ex btw per stuk.
er is maar 1 soort van lexus achterlicht, om maar een voorbeeld te geven.
Nederland loopt hopeloos achter, ze hebben alleen van het oude type yaris spullen.
dus we wachten nog even.

Banzai, that is some absolutely astounding glass work you've done there. Easily the most extensively modified Yaris these forums have seen.
Manborn, your rims are the shit.
So I've been a member for the longest time, since the forum basically opened up. I've been building my Yaris with the help of KamiSpeed, mainly because I work there. But I've been quite on my car so that I could break it in once its completed. It's been taking a while to finish... so i might as well show off my car now. Haha, Ive seen a few pictures of my car around here so I thought I'd come out and display it. So here is a picture... Hopefully I'll have better one's soon. =) Enjoy

This is my little toy before and after the drop. Kept the wheels 15" to reduce weight. Stock tires till I wear them out and did the df springs. Front was a 1 13/16" drop and rear was a 1 7/8". Feels much better in turns. Still comfortable ride.

If you don't have something nice to say, keep your mouth shut. This forum is for people to compliment each others Yaris, not tear it down. We don't really care what your opinion is on hubcaps. Let's try to keep this forum upbeat, like it has been. Although I did go look at your 212 posts and see you make a lot of diatribe comments, so maybe people here really don't pay any attention to you anymore.
It's scary to think that the only person around you that's below average is jdium...

Welcome to Yarisworld. Very nice sedan... it looks so good in white!
I realize a lot of people on this forum also yank the hubcaps, but I just don't get it. Rather than looking like a spanking new car right off the showroom floor, it looks like you just picked up a wreck! Oh well, to each his own.
Enjoy your new car. We'll be watching for your mods...

What age bracket are you in MatrixmanVVTL? I'm 56 and that's something we did as kids. Black wheels always looked cooler than those huge chrome hubcaps (most cars back then had full-size chrome hubcaps). Sometimes we'd put chrome trim rings and baby moons on them if we could afford it. If we couldn't, then we'd just put chrome lug nuts on them. I'm still a fan of the "spinner" chrome hub cap and that's what I put on my Yaris. That's what we called the chrome spoke hub cap back then. Now days a "spinner" means one that keeps spinning after the car stops. A few guys on here have been really voicing their opinions on black wheels and/or hubcaps of any kind, no matter how pretty they are. We have to ignore them. They don't realize that not everyone has the finances for, or possibly the love for most of the aftermarket wheels that will fit our rig. I like a lot of the aftermarket wheels, but they are always for something other than my Yaris, so I opted for the chrome spoke hubcaps and spent a ton of money on many other mods. I've seen a lot of after-market wheels on here that really look terrible, but I prefer to tell them what I LIKE about their cars, rather than what I don't like.

Its not the best picture but I had to borrow someone elses camera and only had a few mintues to snap a couple of shots. Tanabe DF 210 , OEM Side Skirts. LED Tail lights in the mail and 17' gloss black enkei's, front lip or bumber, rear lip or bumber and AEM Dryflow intake soon to come.
I guess I understand how some people think the no hubcap look looks a little rugged or "junkyard" as somebody called it, but I think thats kind of the whole point. It's a race inspired look and it would be pretty damn expensive if you had to throw on another alloy rim everytime you damaged it. Im not saying im a racer but in my eyes, the whole steelies (steel black wheels) or black rim look is subtle and all buisness. Plus, if you keep your car clean including your steelies, I dont see how it can look uncared for or again "junkyardish".
I like my stock steel rims so much that if it werent for the narrow width of them, I would keep eventhough i have the money for aftermarket ones. Matte black, gloss black , gunmetal, and hyperblack rims also signify the opposite of a "ricer" to me. No offence to you meteoriteyars or to any other members who put things on their car like; graphics, woodgrained dash, chrome spoke hubcaps, but it look tacky and cheap, the opposite of what dark racing rims are..

Hmmm... the 205/45/17 is actually the tallest OEM Vitz/Yaris tire.
What were you running before the upgrade???

Gee, vasilakis13, you were doing real good supporting the guys that didn't want or couldn't afford the after-market wheels and kept their black rims, but you really fell down when you described my add-ons and said that it looks tacky and cheap. Too bad you can't say something nice, but tit-for-tat.... I think your blue yaris looks like shit with those wheels that looks like you found in a rummage sale. And the whole car looks so plain and cheap on the outside, and I'm sure the inside, too. I can't hardly tell that you customized it all. Those side skirts aren't even noticable. What a waste of money! Certainly looks ANYTHING but "racey." and what's with that Wal-mart towel on the dash? That sure looks tacky and cheap! Won't you guys ever learn to say good things about someone's car, or nothing at all? It does no good to take cheap shots at things you don't like. That said, I'm done with this forum and won't be receiving any more emails about new postings, so I won't see your comeback to this or any private messages. The Yaris owners on here are a bunch of whining racer wannabes that don't have a clue how to customize a car and make it stand out in a crowd. Let's face it, it's a shitty car for racing, so the only thing you can do with it is make it look different from everybody else's, but the way you guys are going at it hardly makes them noticable at all. Mine is the only one on here with graphics to break up the large one-colored side of an otherwise ugly car, and I've done more customizing to my car than anyone else on here has. But jealousy has reared its ugly head, and I understand you are just a bunch of punks that really know nothing about cars and can't afford all the neat stuff I can. On top of that, your mom never taught you to be nice. 'Nuff said. goodbye.
