People in Ontario hog the left on the highways for sure, but I'm usually in the centre lane because of that stupid 50 over garbage now, anyway. Where I get aggravated is in Quebec, which I drive in a lot. Only 1/5th of Quebec drivers seem to know what a signal is. But that's not my main problem. I don't know how many of you have driven the 138 between Quebec City and Baie-Comeau, but I have many, many times. The limit is 90 most of the time, one lane each way. I like to cruise at 110-120. So, I'll always eventually come behind someone going 90-100. There's only ever a second passing lane every 20kms or so. Usually I just wait till then, but as soon as the passing lane comes up everyone going 90-100 all of a sudden finds their gas pedal and goes 140-150!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???!! So freaking annoying. THEN when the passing lane ends, they slow back to 90-100. This happens at every single damn passing lane. So I start tapping into my car's power and pass them on a broken yellow.
Some freakin jerk in a Yaris sedan once tried to keep me from passing him... Went over the broken yellow, left it in 6th to pass, hardly gassing it. Then, I heard his car gear down form my open windows and the engine was buzzing really fast. I just looked at him like "what drug are you on??" and geared to 4th and floored it. Now generally, when I come to those rare second passing lanes I just go up to about 160 and everybody gets out of my way. I usually flash a bunch too so nobody comes out in front of me. Generally, Quebec is fun to drive in cause everyone does go fast and the cops don;t seem to care. I passed highway patrol at 120 on the MET before...40 through MTL. Didn't do anything. My fiance lives on St Laurent so I'm in that area quite often. I've seen people street racing close to there, like really going at it, right in front of cops and they never even bothered to chase them, lol. Driving in Nova Scotia has to be the most annoying overall. The limit on most of their main highways is 110km/h like New Brunswick, but in NS the slow lane goes 95-100 and the passing lane 105-110, and no one moves over for anything lol. Cops are also really strict there. A guy I work with who used to live in Sydney got a ticket for 103 in a 100 zone before...2 demerit points for 3 km/h over, lol.
