Yes an addtional resonator will quiet the exhaust down a bit.
I run a turbo style muffler, quieter and much cheaper than the Tanabe. There is just a very slight tone change in the cabin. Thread here: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9520
