I do this and the winter tires last ridiculously long since they're only used in below freezing temps.
On a light car like the Yaris winter tires make is invincible in the snow in regards to control. I was taught to drive in big heavy sedans w/ all seasons and i'm glad I was, but I light car w/ winters on is a great set up and we'll worth it if you travel on congested roads w/ people not paying attention

Big heavy? I drove an Audi Q7, and on all seasons, it was just sliding all around.
