Absolutely get winter tires. Not all seasons. A front wheel drive car with good snow tires is, in my opinion, better than a 4 wheel drive in most situations. The vehicle will be pulled in the direction you steer with nothing pushing in a straight line behind it. Just remember that snow tires aren't going to keep you from getting stuck in deeper snow. In the Yaris, it's the ground clearance that gets you. But if you're driving on icy roads, which most of winter is around here, the Yaris is a machine. I'm on Michelin X-Ice 3's and very happy with them.
