Public Speaking....
competed..sort of like the debate team, but not a team. Well, we had a team but you competed individually against people in the same catagory (poetry, prose, informative speech, persuasive speech, storytelling...there were others...I forget..) and then your scores were combined with your team mates for an overall score.
Medals were won...meets were weekly during the season all over the state. Oh, and yes....I lettered in public speaking...

If you're going to do that, don't forget the Rules (as explained by my wife)....
RULES OF BBQ
After the long months of cold and winter, we will soon be coming up to summer and BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking as it's the only type of cooking a real man will do, probably because there is an element of danger involved.
When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:
Routine...
1) The woman buys the food.
2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand
Here comes the important part:
4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE
GRILL.
More routine....
5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks
her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.
Important again:
7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
More routine.....
8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces and brings them to the table..
9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
And most important of all:
10) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.
11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women....

Hello YW people...taking a ten minute break from the insanity of ME mid term exams to see what's new on here. I've been too tired lately to even go on YW, yeah, can you believe it? Thank God spring break is starting tomorrow, I need a vacation from classes, group work, blah blah blah, you've all heard it before.
This spring break will be amazing, Rain's coming in from CA then we are heading off to OH for the Midwest Spring meet :) Then a few more days of fun together next week followed by some intense studying for exams after break. All in all it will be a great time and I'm sure we will find time to share it with you all too.

not really.. i cant seem to get myself s good schedule for it.. and since the tv its connected to doesnt work for regular tv, only dvd and wii.. theres not much of a reason for me to go into that room, so its easy to overlook.. i need to get my fatty batty butt back on there though.. and get my butt back into the gym too.. cant be wasting my $20/year eating boxes of girl scout cookies in a single sitting.. ahhhh home! so i had a gnarly night last night when i went to Dave and Busters (alone). of course, its happy hour, drinks 1/2 off.. start my night easy.. 4 drinks... then i meet some older guys.. east coasters.. they invite me to drink with them.. so i join their party.. another 4 drinks and a mixed shot later(yes.. thats 9 drinks in just under 3 hours cuz i got there at like 9:40) and poof its time to go home.. so i made it home safely, puke and pass the eff out only to wake up in the morning with my hair still in a ponytail, bandanna still on, contacts still in....
yea, that was a good night.. but no im not doin that one again! next time, i'm stickin to skeeball!
