just got home.. work was interesting today.. our phones went completely down for 2 hours. i just found out that i am going to ISS(billing/changes) training at the end of the month.. for 3 months.. and no, i will not be getting a pay increase. they will be lots of mandatory overtime with little to no notice and it will be impossible for me to get days off. and i heard from someone i gave my number to finally.. really exciting.. until i told him of my situation.. no more texts after that... oh well.. maybe hes just researching it or thinking about it.. one can only hope..

Car shopping/looking today. No dealers really open. Going out in the morning. My daughter and her husband are looking at getting a new car (maybe slightly used). His old Honda has 234,000 miles on it and is just not dependable any more.

Of course I recommend the Yaris :biggrin: , but the Fit is also a good car. We are going to one of the area Toyota dealers in the morning. He just wants a basic Liftback. Maybe red or black, but they have a 2008 Meteorite Metallic used one as well. Just whatever the best deal is. Lots of those yellow ones around here if anyone if anyone is looking for yellow.

French Fried Skunk
2 skunks. skinned and cleaned
1 tbsp. salt
Water to cover
2 cups bear fat or lard
2 egg yolks, beaten
3 cups milk or cream
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp baking powder

Clean and wash the skunks, making sure the scent glands are removed.
Cut into small serving size pieces.
Put a soup kettle on the stove and add the meat.
Cover with cold water and bring to a boil over high heat.
Lower the heat and boil until the meat is tender, about 40 minutes.
Remove all the scum that rises to the surface of the water.
Make a batter by mixing together the egg yolks, milk, flour, salt and baking powder.
Mix real good until the batter is like cake batter.
Heat the bear fat or lard in a deep fryer to about 360 degrees F.
Dip the pieces of skunk in the batter and fry them in the deep fryer til golden brown.
Drain well and serve.

Spent most of yesterday car shopping with my daughter and her husband.

He got a 2009 Absolutely Red Manual Yaris with convenience package.:thumbup:

It was due to come in today, but actually arrived yesterday just before we finished the paperwork. Great Timing. $13,200 OTD. I help negotiate a bit. Had them include the TRD Sway Bar and install. He will go and get that done by the end of the week. He's already got the DF210 to install as well. Hoping to get the springs and the sway bar done at the same time. I had a set here waiting to put on husband's Blazing Blue. I can always order more. They gotta head back to Jacksonville, NC at the end of the week.

He's very excited. First new car. Heck, probably first really dependable car.

He's thinking about wheels already. TSW Trackstar 4 - Black with red lip. He likes the black with red lip look. Anyone else know of anymore. Prefer single drilled.

So, we are now a 3 Yaris family. Hopefully photos before they leave at the end of the week.

Well, to be fair we did look at the Honda lot as well. He did like the Fit, but budget was an issue. Can't touch a Fit for $13,200.

So, I called my insurance company to ask about my coverage and lowering my deductibles...it turns out my Comprehensive was already at a zero deductible and I lowered my Collision from a $500 deductible to as low as I could go (50) and it only added 10 dollars a month to my premium charge.

So, give me another week and I'll be getting my car fixed!! :o)
